"Vacation, All I Ever Wanted..."

Rob and I were talking this morning about the fact that we will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary next year. I can't believe it's been almost 9 years already! Anyway as we were talking I suggested that we go on some kind of trip to celebrate. I figure if we start saving now we could actually afford a decent trip by then. So does anyone have any suggestions? What is the best vacation you've ever been on? Or what should we avoid? We've never really been on a trip that didn't involve visiting family so we are open to any fun idea you might want to share.

By the way, give yourself a pat on the back if you recognize where my post title came from.

I'm looking forward to hearing all of your suggestions!

The title is a song... right? "...had to get away!"

GO TO KAUAI. We went there on our honeymoon, and have been BLESSED enough to go back twice since. We're planning to go there for our 10th anniversary, fall 2009, Lord willing! I can give you a zillion ideas and reasons why if you want them!

Heather, Joshua and I haven't gone on any huge vacations, but I find the simple getaways have been the best. I absolutely LOVE Bed & Breakfast places. Once you choose a location (We loved Halifax, NS) find a cozy B&B where you'll get a gourmet bfast included in your overnight price. And usually the owners have the inside scoop of the best attractions in the area.

The other thing I might suggest, that may sound strange but hear me out. You could take the time and money you have and do a vacation with a missions focus. Joshua and I have such great memories from our time in Guatemala. You may be able to stay in the nice resort that Pastor David brings everyone to, but then use some of your time to help David at the church with the kids. I think that would be an anniversary to remember!

Anyhow, just my 2 cents worth.

I just found your blog today, but I thought I would leave a comment. (Don't we live for comments?!) I would go anywhere tropical! (Vague, right?)

I read some of the previous posts, those Christmas gifts were incredible! Girl, you've got a good 'un!
